- 200# test boxes have 60% stronger bursting strength and are recommended by UPS for shipping up to 40 lbs
- 32 ECT boxes are recommended by UPS for shipping up to 30 lbs
- Pound test refers to bursting strength, while ECT refers to stacking strength
- Box strength guidelines (maximum weight per box) based on the Fiber Box Handbook and UPS guidelines:
- 32 ECT single wall: 65 lbs (UPS)
- 200# single wall: 65 lbs (UPS) / 40 lbs (recommended)
- 275# single wall: 95 lbs (UPS) / 65 lbs (recommended)
- 350# single wall: 120 lbs (UPS) / 80 lbs (recommended)
- 200# double wall: 80 lbs (UPS) / 60 lbs (recommended)
